Classic Angel didn’t just appear. It was manifested. ✧

This entire little universe is the brainchild (and honestly, love child) of Mariah, our Editor-in-Chief, who has been dreaming of bringing back the magic of early 2000s magazines, the kind you’d flip through on your bedroom floor, dog-ear the pages, and obsess over for weeks. She wanted to revive that feeling and make people fall in love with physical media, nostalgia, and creative expression all over again. And more than anything, she wanted a space to pour her energy into something she genuinely cares about.

 

Enter Fern, Creative Director, visual genius, and Mariah’s literal internet soulmate. The two met on Tumblr in 2014 (as all iconic duos do) and have been long-distance besties and pen pals ever since. Yes, they do text now, but the energy remains the same. In one of their many idea-filled conversations, Mariah pitched Classic Angel, and almost immediately, they both knew they had the vision, the taste, and the brainpower to actually make it happen.

 

Then, because every great story needs a third, enter Phoebe Jean. ✧

Phoebe Jean is Fern’s childhood best friend, who met Mariah at Fern’s wedding (because of course this story is a little cinematic). The connection clicked instantly, and suddenly the trio just made sense. With Phoebe Jean’s love for pop culture, lifestyle, and all things horoscope-coded, bringing her into the mix felt less like a decision and more like destiny.

 

And when you combine three very creative women, a shared obsession with nostalgia, and just enough delusion to believe you can build something magical...you get Classic Angel. ✧
